Steve and Marina Capps
Mini-Vacation in Gatlinburg, May, 2003

Greetings, All --

Well, we survived the first part of our vacation - Marina was able to fight off the plastic bear, and we didn't fall off any cliffs as we went horse-riding.

Here is day 2 of our Gatlinburg Mini-vacation.
Today we decided to hike to Laurel Falls. This is a nice walk, not too far -- the trail to the falls is about 82,000 inches, so that should give you a very good idea of how far you must walk.
First we must leave Mom's time share resort in Gatlinburg. I remember when they built the hotel you can see in the background, it used the be the Sheraton, I think.

As we walk down to the car, we take the stairs -- there is a "waterfall" in this resort -- if you take the stairs, you can sort of walk under the waterfall, and it is very fun.

Here is Marina walking on the trail to the falls.

Next, she wants to climb some rocks.

Here is me, taking a rest break in a rocky hollow :-)
