Next I tried a bear - it's supposed to be a polar bear, but to me it looks more like a grizzly bear. This one was much harder that the first one - the shape is more complicated, it is larger, and I had to use drills, and even chisels and a hammer. But it turned out very nice. It is 7.5 inches by 4 inches by 3 inches, and it weighs about 4 pounds (the stone is very heavy because it contains lots of iron). .

Again, the stone is "steatite" from Canada, it has a greenish tinge in places, and is translucent white, grey, and black in other places..
I finished this on September 11, 2003.
